Тhe Department of International Cooperation of the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan has organized an online-lecture with a Belorussian expert of internet-journalism. The lecture was led by Alexander Gradyushko, the candidate of philological sciences, associate professor of the department of periodical press and web-journalism of the journalism faculty of Belorussian State University.

The topic of the lecture was "The profession of a journalist at the time of digital technologies. Modern trends in media development." We have to notice that the profession of a journalist is significant in the era of digital media when there is a complete rethinking of its work in a completely new context in the face of changes in the production, distribution and consumption of information.

According to Aleksandr Aleksandrovich's words, the development of the digital information and communication environment, especially social networks, “leading” consumers away from the traditional media environment, poses new challenges to advertising and public relations. As a result, corporate communications are largely reoriented to new media, depriving traditional media, primarily newspapers, of income sources.
